At the AGM on 17th May 2017. Paul Foster was appointed as the new chairman, taking over from William Fossick after some thirty years of service. Derek Mason was appointed as vice chairman.

Paul Foster

Serving as a local Parish Councillor since 1995, Paul has sat at Greenstead Green and Halstead Rural Parish Council as Chairman since May 2017. He is a Chartered Surveyor and a Director at Barton Willmore, a leading design and town planning consultancy. Paul lives at Pennypot Corner and is married with two children.

Derek Mason

Having moved to Greenstead green fourteen years ago, Derek joined the parish council in 2015 and has been vice chairman for the last year. He is the managing director of D Mason Developments Ltd and Pine side Homes Ltd. Derek lives in a house he built next to the church in Greenstead green with his wife and two children.

Amanda is the Parish Clerk.

Derek Hambling

Has lived in the area since 1975 when he moved to Castle Hedingham with his parents. Moved to Halstead after getting married in 1987 to Judi and then moved to Greenstead Green in 2015 so he could have all their animals under one roof. Loves living in the village and has taken an interest in supporting local groups including Greenwatch and being on the committee for the village fete.

He has two grown up children who have both left home but who live locally and still regularly call on dad’s maintenance services.

He has worked in and around the Transport industry for most of his working life.

Firstly for C Albany and sons who were later taken over by Derek Cooper Transport in Sible Hedingham, and then became an Area Manager for Dunlop Tyres finally ending up as Regional manager in the late 90’s. Left Dunlop when it was taken over by Goodyear tyres to become General Manager for Cedric Coaches in Wivenhoe running local buses and international coaches.

Started his current position as Business Development Manager with HB Commercials in 2014 supplying commercial vehicle parts and repairs at their four depots in East Anglia. .

His spare time is limited as most is taken up training and looking after his Dogs and maintaining the horses paddocks. He is also interested in Football, Rugby, Motor Racing and loves listening to music.

Joined the Parish Council in 2018 and is keen to add his Transport knowledge to Highway and Planning problems.

Pat Wickes

Pat and Derek moved to Burtons Green in 1974 and very much enjoy living in a rural environment. They have two daughters who were educated locally. Having previously worked for HMRC, when their daughters started school Pat worked locally for a chartered accountant dealing with personal tax. Pat is also a member and treasurer of Greenstead Green PCC.

Ian Pleasance

Ian lives in the White Ash Green area of Halstead Rural and Greenstead Green, having moved from the London/Essex border where he was active in community management and development projects. Ian works as a Head of Systems Engineering for national and multinational Web firms, and in his free time is a hobby pilot and boxer.

Bill Dixey

Bill and his wife have lived in the Star Stile area of Halstead Rural and Greenstead Green for over 35 years having previously lived in Halstead. Bill is a retired builder with over 55years in the trade and take a keen interest in planning issues. Bill took over as Parish councillor from his neighbour who moved away.
Bill is a church organist and usually plays at a village church three Sundays a month and Halstead URC one Sunday. Bill has two sons and five grandchildren.

Representative:- Mainly Star Stile Area. Neighbourhood Watch and Tree Warden.
